About Poulin Auctions

Poulin Antiques and Auctions is a family-run auction company in Fairfield, Maine, best known for its large firearms sales. The Poulin family, including Steve Poulin and Nick Poulin, who heads the firearms company, has offered auction services for more than 30 years. Fairfield became one of the best-known addresses in gun collecting because it was also the home of James D. Julia Auctioneers, and for years Poulin held its firearms sales right next door, immediately before the Julia premier sales. In March 2012, for example, a three-day Poulin sale of more than 2,000 lots reached $2.1 million, and the combined five-day Poulin and Julia event generated about $20 million.

Poulin sales mix high-end collectible arms with affordable shooter-grade guns, which makes them popular with both collectors and everyday gun owners. James D. Julia, who built his company into a world-renowned auction house after buying it from Arthur Julia in the 1970s, sold that business in 2017. He later joined Poulin as an advisor, consultant and auctioneer, and Poulin added an antiques division. The company has described itself as the second largest firearms auction house in the world, with about $20 million in annual sales.
