Politicians: Elected Officials and Firearm Legislation

Firearm laws are written, amended and repealed by elected officials, so the record of individual legislators is a practical part of understanding how current gun laws came to be. Concealed carry licensing, hunting rules and the organization of national advocacy groups have all been shaped by officials who sponsored bills, served on committees or worked with firearm organizations during and after their time in office.

Minuteman University.com currently lists 5 politicians below who served at the federal or state level. Each profile records the offices held, dates of service and documented firearm-related actions, compiled from public sources. Inclusion on this page does not imply endorsement.
