About Chipotle Publishing

Chipotle Publishing, LLC is a family-owned niche publisher in Henderson, Nevada, focused on firearms and defense subjects. Its flagship title is Small Arms Review (SAR), whose first issue appeared in October 1997, and it also publishes Small Arms Defense Journal (SADJ). The company produces Semper Fi for the Marine Corps League and California Firing Line for the California Rifle & Pistol Association, and it publishes reference books such as The Vickers Machine Gun: Pride of the Emma Gees, AK-47: The Grim Reaper and The Mac Man: Gordon B. Ingram and His Submachine Guns.

Both magazines trace back to Dan Shea, who founded Small Arms Review and Small Arms Defense Journal. Shea started his first machine gun business in the mid-1970s after leaving the U.S. Army, has written more than 1,100 articles, served as technical editor of the NFA Handbook, and created the Machine Gun Dealers Bible. In 2017 he received the National Defense Industrial Association’s Chinn Award for significant contributions to the field of small arms. For NFA collectors and machine gun enthusiasts, SAR’s archive offers years of technical and historical articles.
