About Frank Fiamingo

Frank Jack Fiamingo is a New Jersey gun rights activist and the founding president of the New Jersey Second Amendment Society (NJ2AS), a nonprofit civil rights organization working in one of the most restrictive states in the country for gun owners. NJ2AS began with about ten people meeting around a kitchen table and officially became the New Jersey Second Amendment Society on July 12, 2010. Its stated mission is to promote Second Amendment rights in New Jersey’s communities and Legislature, to teach safe and responsible firearm use, and to build fellowship among members and their families.

Under Fiamingo’s leadership NJ2AS grew to report thousands of members and supporters. The group sued the New Jersey State Police to obtain the “Applicant Investigation Guide” used in firearms permitting, and its “Operation Establish Compliance” campaign pressed many New Jersey towns to drop unlawful requirements from firearms applications. The society published regular President’s Reports from 2011 onward and open letters, including a September 2013 letter to Governor Chris Christie about his gun rights decisions, and NJ2AS leaders joined an allied rally in Connecticut in April 2014.
