About Trailblazer Firearms

Trailblazer Firearms is the American company behind the LifeCard, a folding single-shot pistol roughly the size of a credit card. Founder and president Aaron Voigt built the company around the idea of a firearm small and flat enough to be carried almost anywhere a wallet goes. When folded, the LifeCard measures about 3.4 inches long, 2.1 inches high and half an inch thick, and it weighs about 7 ounces. It uses a steel barrel in a mostly aluminum frame, a tip-up barrel that is loaded one round at a time, a single-action trigger with a manually cocked hammer, and a handle that stores three spare cartridges.

The original .22 Long Rifle LifeCard reached the market in late 2017 at a suggested retail price of $399. By mid-2018 more than 6,000 units had sold and the company was scaling up production and adding distributors. In 2019 Trailblazer added a .22 WMR version with the same dimensions in response to customer demand for more power. For gun owners, the LifeCard is a niche design best understood as a deep-concealment backup or survival pistol rather than a primary defensive handgun.
