OSS Suppressors of Millcreek, Utah, built its name on Flow-Through technology, a suppressor design the company says significantly reduces blowback and toxic gas reaching the shooter, along with the extra back pressure that affects how a suppressed rifle runs. That focus made OSS a frequent topic in the suppressor community, and in June 2016 the company publicly answered competitor SureFire in a debate over suppressor testing.
OSS Suppressors LLC acquired the earlier Operators Suppressor Systems, and its HX-QD line, a one-piece evolution of the Flow-Through design, was shaped by military requirements, with the HX-QD 762 influenced by the U.S. Army CSASS program and the HX-QD 556k designed to pass the USSOCOM reliability stress test.
