About Seecamp
L.W. Seecamp Co. is the maker of some of the best-known deep-concealment pocket pistols in the United States. Founder Ludwig (Louis) Wilhelm Seecamp trained as a gunsmith in pre-World War II Germany, emigrated to the U.S. in 1959 and worked as a designer for shotgun maker O.F. Mossberg. In 1973 he started a pistolsmithing business known for double-action conversions of the Colt 1911, and in 1981 the company moved into manufacturing with the LWS-25, a tiny double-action-only .25 ACP pistol.
The LWS-25 was made from 1981 to 1985 (about 5,000 units) and was soon replaced by the LWS-32 in .32 ACP, the pistol that made the Seecamp name. After Louis Seecamp died in 1989, his son Larry ran the business from Milford, Connecticut, and introduced the LWS-380 in 1999. In 2014 Whalley Precision bought the company and moved production to Southwick, Massachusetts, where Seecamp pistols remain in production.
