About Sam Paredes
Sam Paredes is the longtime Executive Director of Gun Owners of California (GOC), the California sister organization of Gun Owners of America (GOA). He has led GOC since 1998 and is a registered lobbyist in Sacramento, where he has represented gun owners before the California Legislature for more than two decades. He is also a certified firearms instructor and has co-hosted the Sacramento radio program Just Guns.
Paredes holds leadership roles across the GOA family of organizations. He serves on the GOA Board of Directors and as Treasurer of Gun Owners Foundation, GOA’s educational and research arm, which holds seminars for the public, media and government officials on Second Amendment issues. GOA itself was founded in 1976 by California state senator H. L. Richardson, giving the national group and its California affiliate deep roots in the state’s gun rights movement.
