About Kalashnikov USA
Kalashnikov USA (KUSA) is the brand name of RWC Group LLC, a Pompano Beach, Florida, company founded in 2011 that designs, makes and sells Kalashnikov-style firearms for law enforcement, military and commercial customers. After the United States sanctioned Russia’s defense sector in 2014 following Russia’s military intervention in Ukraine, Russian-made Kalashnikov Concern rifles could no longer be imported, and KUSA was formed to produce similar designs in the United States. The company states it has no ownership connection to Kalashnikov Concern.
In June 2015, then-CEO Thomas McCrossin announced that the company would begin selling U.S.-made guns. Its lineup has included the US132 Saiga-style rifle and US109 shotgun (2015), the KS-12 and KS-12T semi-automatic shotguns (2017), the KR-9 carbines based on the Russian Vityaz-SN (2018), and the KR103, a 7.62x39mm clone of the AK-103 (2020). In March 2018, Bloomberg reported that the company was under federal investigation over possible ties to Russia. The company filed for bankruptcy in 2024.
