About Desert Tech
Desert Tech is a Utah firearms manufacturer based in West Valley City, founded in 2007 as Desert Tactical Arms by Nick Young, who remains its president and CEO. The company built its name on bullpup designs, which place the action behind the trigger to deliver a full-length barrel in a much shorter overall rifle. Its first major product, the SRS (Stealth Recon Scout) bolt-action precision rifle, was unveiled at the 2008 SHOT Show and has since been selected by military and police units in several countries, including the Czech Republic, Lithuania and Georgia.
The company rebranded as Desert Tech in 2013 and expanded into the larger HTI rifle and the semi-automatic MDR and MDRx bullpups. By May 2018 every firearm in its catalog was a bullpup. In January 2024 Desert Tech introduced the WLVRN, a multi-caliber semi-automatic bullpup, at SHOT Show as the successor to the MDRx, which was discontinued along with the MDR. The current lineup also includes the Infinity 16. Desert Tech maintains an Indian joint venture, Neco Desert Tech Defence.
